Kitchens are usually equipped with sinks. Sinks are the tools we use to clean dishes and food. Commonly, sinks are made of stainless steel. Besides, there are also sinks made of iron enamel, ceramic, etc. What should be noted when choosing a kitchen sink? 

Size:The width of the sink should be determined based on the width of the countertop in the kitchen. Generally, the width of the sink should be the countertop width minus about 10 cm. In China, the size of the countertop ranges from 50 cm to 60 cm, which leads to a reasonable width for the sink being between 43 cm and 48 cm. The Maigoo editor suggests that it would be better to choose a sink with a depth of more than 20 cm, as it can effectively prevent water splashes from flying out. 

Material:The material should be 304 stainless steel, as it has a lower carbon content and thus better flexibility. The thickness of the material should be moderate, preferably between 0.8mm and 1.0mm. If it is too thin, it will affect the lifespan and strength of the sink, while if it is too thick, it will lose its strength and be prone to damaging the washed dishes. 

Technology / Process:The welding is precise, there are no false welds, no cracks, no pores in the welds, and the welds are smoothly and evenly ground; the surface treatment of the water tank is matte for both aesthetic and practical purposes. The surface treatment mainly includes pearl silver or frosted finishes, which should be uniform, regular, and have good metallic texture; it not only has no glaring reflection but also can withstand repeated wear from porcelain and tableware, is easy to clean, and remains as new when frequently used. 

Is there a protective coating?The bottom of the sink is coated with a protective layer to achieve quietness and prevent condensation water. A better coating method is to spray the entire backside of the sink with mortar. The common method is to attach a rubber gasket to the bottom, which also has the effect of reducing noise.
